About 702WI:
702WI (WI = writer incubator) is a co-creative workspace for writers, creators and designers to write, design, and create. The space provides a comfortable, quiet, and inspiring atmosphere, and a place to work among and connect with other writers, designers, web warriors, and creators. 702WI is also an event space for authors and reading groups, and a gallery space for artists who incorporate writing and words. 702WI was created by Reading Group Choices, a company that recommends books for reading group discussion, and is based out of Madison, Wisconsin.

Author Events:
702WI hosts adult and young adult author events, and focuses on events for an author's first book. Since 702WI was created by Reading Group Choices, there is also an emphasis on connecting with neighborhood book groups, and book groups from local community centers and organizations. The events offer an important and fun way to celebrate books, writers, and readers, and aim to inspire lively and thoughtful conversation. The events are creatively designed to connect the reader with the author and book through a small audience, unique formatting, and entertaining additions.

Book Group Resource Events:
702WI hosts resource events for people who want to start a group, for people who are looking for a group to join, and for organizations who are interested in starting a group at their workplace or community center. If you are interested in starting a group at your organization/workplace, please fill out the event request form below.

Art Openings:
702WI showcases rotating art that incorporates words/writing/language. Gallery nights, Bike the Art dates, and other art nights are listed on the events calendar.

Location:
702WI is located at 702 E Johnson St (@ Blount St) in Madison, Wisconsin. It is the first floor of a small brick building directly across from The Caribou Bar; next door to Forequarter Restaurant; one block from Lake Mendota and James Madison Park; two blocks from East Wash and Cargo Coffee and Sujeo; and two blocks from La Taguara, Sofia's Bakery, Salvatore's Pizza, The Johnson Public House, Yoga Co-Op of Madison, Dog Haus University, and more. Which is to say, there are amazing food, beverage, nature and yoga diversions in walking distance happy to assist you with the simple case of writer's block. And the local pup daycare means there's no need to feel guilty writing the day away since he/she can play the day away just down the street.

Transportation:
Buses run on East Johnson and East Wash, bike racks are available just outside on Johnson, and while the street parking is 2-hour, there are always spots available on Blount and Johnson, and there is a small parking lot at the top of Blount on the lake.
